Juliet is an iconic female character. The name signifies a treasured jewel. It stands for feeling young, radiant, new and unbiased.
Juliet is creatively helmed by Iris Otten and Nathalie van der Brug and is a sub-label of the production company Pupkin. Nathalie started twenty years ago as Iris’ intern when she was producing her first film after graduating from film school. However, Nathalie kept beating Iris at the tennis court every week.
Subsequently they joined forces and produced the highly acclaimed debut films Quality Time, Take Me Somewhere Nice (both selected for the IFFR’s Tiger Competition) and Paradise Drifters (selected for the Berlinale and IFFR), the Emmy-nominated film Boys and the family show Penguins and Pastry, and Dutch Film Award (Gouden Kalf) winners The Peter Pan Man, We Will Never Be Royals and Seven Little Criminals.
The high-end family show ‘Lampie’, based upon the award-winning children’s book by Annet Schaap, is currently in post-production just as the Telefilm ‘Romaissa’. The feature film ‘Jippie No More!’ – about a boy with Down’s syndrom’s first love – is simultaneously in prep.

Currently, Mees Peijnenburg’s new film A Family, where brother and sister try to keep their heads above water during their parents’ messy divorce, is in post-production. Meanwhile, Hein season 2 is in pre-production.
